Secondary School Immunization Clinics- coming soon!

Posted On Monday January 30, 2023

The following is a message from the Durham Region Health Department's Immunization Program regarding upcoming Secondary School Immunization clinics.

Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s),

Your child may have recently received an Immunization Reminder Letter in the mail indicating which childhood vaccines they are eligible or overdue for as per the Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA).  It is important that students are up to date on all immunizations to have protection against vaccine preventable diseases and to avoid school suspension in the future. The Durham Region Health Department will be hosting Secondary School Immunization Clinics at all high schools throughout Durham Region in February and March 2023.

We will provide immunization information to individual students and offer the ISPA related vaccines as well as any of the routine Grade 7 vaccines they may have missed due to the pandemic. You/your child may also wish to book an online appointment at your child’s school. Please view the school clinic dates and book an appointment by visiting Child Immunization and School Clinics - Region of Durham.  COVID- 19 vaccines will not be offered at the secondary school clinics.

If your student has already received the vaccines indicated on your Reminder Letter, please report them online at www.durham.ca/immunize

For any questions about immunization please visit www.durham.ca/immunize  or call Durham Health Connection Line at 905- 668-2020 or 1-800-841-2729.

Sincerely,

Immunization Program
